BALTIMORE, MD — A construction worker died this week when he was struck by a roller truck while working in Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood.
According to Baltimore police, officers responded to a construction site in the 3900 block of Falls Road shortly before 1:50 p.m. Wednesday after a caller reported that a man was run over by a construction zone roller truck.
When officers arrived, they confirmed the man had been hit by the truck. Authorities said he died at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities determined the man's death was accidental.
In a statement posted to social media, Baltimore councilmember James Torrence confirmed the man was a construction worker. Torrence said the contractor would not continue work in the area until July 19.
